Environmental Policy

Stillmotion aims to be a clean, green graphic and web design business. Through our activities and its influences over others we endeavour to do:

Source green suppliers of paper and other materials necessary for the day-to-day running of our business. We maximise the use of paper by using both sides when possible and waste paper is recycled for future papermaking.

Encourage clients to use our environmentally aware suppliers many of which have ISO 14001 certification which is an internationally accepted standard that sets out how to implement an effective Environmental Management System (EMS).

Most of our suppliers also have FSC and PEFC certification; these are international organisations dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests. These standards were founded in response to public concern about deforestation and demand for a trustworthy wood-labelling scheme. They are supported by organisations such as WWF, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the Woodland Trust.

We encourage our clients to accept pdf proofs to avoid the associated environmental cost of transporting hard copy proofs and use of raw materials.

We are also encouraging clients to use digital forms of promotion such as e-cards at Christmas time to save on trees.

Other measures include using energy saving light bulbs in our offices, turning equipment off when not in use we also look for the most energy efficient supplier of power and have notices above electrical equipment to say "turn off when not in use".

We always look first to use green forms of transport where possible, to attend meetings and when we work daily with clients on projects in the local Bristol and South West area.

We review this policy annually and are committed to continually improve our environmental performance. We regularly check with organisations such as Business Link to see if there is any change in legislation or areas where we could make improvements to this policy.
